            SUNKOSHI RIVER: Sunkoshi river is one of the top ten rivers of the world. It is the biggest rafting spot in Nepal. Sukoshi is known as the river of gold. It flows eastward in Nepal through the great valley between the Mahabharat Lekh Mountains and the Himalayas. The rafting starts from Dolalghat, which is three hours bus-drive from Kathmandu and ends at Chatara, which is eastern Terai of Nepal. The estimated distance between Dolalghat and Chatara is 272 kms. On the way there are no roads and towns. There are only picturesque villages, friendly people and a few places to stock up on beers and cigarettes. All along the river are beautiful white sandy beaches for camping. The lower section of the river is heavily frosted with troops of monkeys and an abundance of bird life. The variety of fishes found here are Tor S.P(sahar), acrossocheilus sq.(kattli), schizothorax, barilius B, channa, amaphipinous S.P(bam) etc.(please see the reference books).
