Katmandu is
perfectly positioned for its modern role as the hub of adventure tourism
in the Himalaya. Fine transport connection exists between Katmandu and Lhasa,
the capital of Tibetan Autonomous Region of China. You can go overland on a
Scenic highway that retraces the old caravan trail or take a spectacular flight
over the Himalaya. The one-hour flight to Lhasa is an adventure in itself.
Taking off from Katmandu, plane flies a long side the eastern Himalaya as far as
Mt. Everest and then turns north with gigantic snow peaks filling up the
left-hand side window soon to touch down at Gonggar Airport, 85 km from Lhasa.
The
magnificent Potala palace, former seat of the Dalai Lama's, presides over the
city. Built in 1645 at the top of a hill, the palace contains 1000 rooms, 10,000
shrines and 200,000 statues.

Day 01
Kathmandu - Nyalam (3600m) -154kms
Departure at 05.30 from Katmandu,
after and approx. 6 hours drive.We reach Kodari (Nepal-China Border). Further
half hour drive by truck will bring us to Zhangmu, where after completion of
immigration formalities check drive to Nyalam. Overnight in hotel.
Day02 Nyalam-
Lhatse (3950m) 370km
From Nyalam road follows the
Bhotekoshi river in a deep valley with plenty of waterfalls. After 1-5 hrs.
Drive brings us to Nylam Pass (3800m) with the Jugal Himal in view. A continued
drive via Lalungla (5050m) will bring us in view of Mt. Langtang (7245m), Mt.
Xixapangma (8013m) and Mt. Dorge Lakpa (6980m), Mt. Makalu (8464m) Mt. Everest
(8848m), Mt. Lhotse (8516m), and Mt.Cho O Oyu (8201m). Overnight at hotel.
Day03
Lhatse-Xigatse (3900m)
Lhatze is 03hr away over a 5220m pass near the petrol station, there is a small
restaurant where tea /snacks available. Depending upon the road conditions,
Shakya Monastery, which is 26 km. Off from the main road will be visited. Shkya
is one of he oldest and most important monastery. Reach Xigatse, the place of
the famous Tashilumpo Monastry the seat of Panchen Lama his death in 1989 with
its huge thanka Wall cleary visible on north side of the road. Overnight in
hotel.
Day04
Xigatse- Gyantse (3950m) 90km.
After visiting Tashilunpo Monastery
in the morning including the bazaar of Xigatse, drive to Gyantse, which is 02
hr. this is small bustling town, steeped in the history. It lies 264km south
west of Lhasa on the northern bank of Nyalun Chu River. In the 15th century it
served as the capital of the small kingdom. Visit Kumbun Chorten and Phaklakor
Monastery, which was, built around 1400 ad it later, became the main Centre for
trade with British India. Overnight in hotel.
Day05Gyantse-
Lhasa (5010m) -260km
08-hr drive takes you to Lhasa
crossing the Karola Pass (4794m). The Karola climbs between two lofty mountains,
Nozing Khangsa (7223m) and Ralung (6236m) while driving you will see the Yamdrok
Tso (Turquoise Lake) which takes approx. 1 hour to cross around. After passing
Kampala, Lhasa Valley is seen to the north. You will also cross the Brahmaputra
River. Reaching Lhasa and check in hotel. The accompanied guide will reconfirm
your onward airline ticket. Overnight in Hotel.
Day06 &
07 Lhasa
These days you will be engrossed with
sightseeing and excursions of the Potala Place, The Jokhang Temple surrounding
Barkhor market Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery. Overnight in hotel.
Day08 Lhasa
- Katmandu
Transfer to airport 02hr.drive
Representative will assist you. Departure of flight for Katmandu would be
approx10.00 he. China Standard Time and arriving Katmandu at 09hr.

Day
3- Thimphu -
Sightseeing After breakfast start the sightseeing with visit to Zelu -Kha
Nunnery, national Library , Handicraft imporium & Walk around Thimphu city
& drive back to hotel for Lunch. After lunch drive to visit Simtokha Dzong
the First fort built by Shabdrung who unified the kingdom 1627 - 29, at
present it houses the chool for the tudy of Dzongkaha , the National Language
of Bhutan,memorial Chorten of late king. Stay overnight.
Day 4 - Thimphu -
punakha Full day excursion to punakha the ancient capital of ut, Which is
still used as the winter residence for Je Khenpo, The Chief Abbot &
central Monk body & district dminis- tration for Punakha. The journey is
across the Docu -la 3100m from where one can view Bhutan mountain ranges
including mt. Gangkar Punsum 7541m the highest mountain in the Kingdom .
Punakha Dzong can be visited if the monk body are in Thimphu in their summer -
residence. Lunch is served at Wangdue guest House & and after lunch drive
back to Thimphu. Stay overnight.
Day 5 - Thimphu - Paro
Morning after breakfast witness the culture show for 1 hr By Royal Dance
troupe & drive to Thimphu city for last Day shopping of souvenir from
Bhutan.lunch is served At Hotel . After lunch drive to the Beautifull valley
of Paro following the Thimphu river till confluence talking the direction
following the Paro river . The drive is of 2 hours & stay over night.
Day 6 - Paro -
Sightseeing After breakfast drive to Drugyel Dzong now a ruined Fortress once
repelled the Tibetan invader in 17th cent. From here one can see the peak of
Mt. Chomolhari 7300m. on the clear day & visit a typical Bhutanese farm
house. Drive back to hotel for lunch. After lunch visit Ta - Dzong ( watch
tower for Paro Dzong ) new houses the National musium & drive to Paro town
for stroll around.Stay overnight.
Day 7 - Drive back
from paro to Phuentsholing / Or fly from Paro. Phuentsholig to drive to Nepal
boarder . From boarder Fly to Kathmandu or drive to Kathamndu( 16 hrs ) .
